LOOSE LEAF TEA Vs SACHET TEA! WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE?

We find on the market two very different ways of presenting tea, discover the differences between a loose leaf tea and a tea in sachet.

5 Main Differences Between Loose Tea & Sachet Tea:

1. FLAVOUR: it is one of the characteristics that will differentiate loose tea from sachet tea, while loose tea is composed of whole or broken leaves, sachet tea is composed of leaves whose processing involves transforming them practically into powder. It is this processing used in the sachets that will destroy the essential oils naturally present in the tea, taking away all the flavor of a beautiful cup of tea. Tea leaves need space to expand and release all the taste of a nice cup of tea. The tea leaves need space to expand and release all their flavour, colour and aroma, which does not happen with sachet tea, since the leaves are crushed and compressed inside the sachet itself.

2. PACKAGING: the way of packaging is equally different between a loose leaf tea and a tea bag. As for sachet tea, it can simply be stored in its original box, while loose tea should be stored in a container suitable for food, preferably in cans or dark ceramics, with an airtight lid in order to preserve all the characteristics of the tea. However, all types of tea should be stored in a dark, cool, and dry place without direct sun exposure and no contact with sources of moisture and heat.

3. PREPARATION: due to its main characteristic, ready-to-use, tea in a sachet does not require an infuser in its preparation.

SACHET FILTERS | These filters are produced from the selected cellulose pulp, 100% natural, are bleached (through a chlorine-free process) and are fully biodegradable.

As for loose leaf tea, it can be prepared in several ways, using an infuser directly in the cup or teapot, or even by placing the leaf directly in water and straining afterwards. It is also possible to use paper filters and prepare your loose leaf tea quickly as well, always taking into account the ideal amount to contain. Check out our website for our paper filters, where we also have wired filters (sachet type).

4. VARIETY: although there is already a wide variety of sachet teas today, the variety is superior when it comes to loose-leaf teas. We have a wide variety of teas/infusions, more than 120, where you can choose between pure or flavored teas and the choice will always depend on your personal taste. When choosing your tea, you can take into account your preference regarding the taste, whether or not it has theine in its composition (=caffeine) or if you prefer an infusion instead of a tea and here you can opt for our fruit, herb or even Rooibos infusions. The hard part will be choosing!

5. QUALITY: loose tea is always of superior quality when compared to tea in sachets.

The taste and aroma of a loose leaf tea, containing all its essential oils, will certainly be superior compared to sachet tea, which inside you will find only the powder of the plant/fruit. We leave you here a challenge, taste an infusion with our chamomile whose buds are fully visible and its undeniable aroma and then drink an infusion of chamomile sachet, you'll certainly notice where the quality is.
